• Your name
• Business name
• Phone number
• E-mail address
• Website address
• Mailing address
Note that to be in compliance with the current spam laws, you are required to list your valid “physical postal address.” (For more info, visit www.ftc.gov/spam.) If you are using a special e-mail template, then you may be able to include this contact information somewhere in the template—besides the signature. Otherwise, just list it as part of the standard e-mail signature, as Dan does here:
Sincerely,
Dan Newman

You now have a solid e-mail offer—and it’s ready to mail out. Insert extra spaces between paragraphs and make any tweaks necessary before you send it. Read it out loud to listen for errors in grammar or sentence structure.
DISTRIBUTE YOUR E-MAIL
Once you have finished writing your e-mail offer, you are ready to distribute it. Your selected online e-mail distribution service should do this for you and at the same time autopopulate the header with the recipient’s name. The e-mails should appear to come directly from your personal e-mail.
Make sure that your e-mail distributor offers an “unsubscribe” or “opt out” function for everyone who receives your e-mail, to stay in compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act.
How Frequently Can You Send E-Mail Offers?
Don’t inundate your customers with multiple e-mail offers—you’ll only pester them to the point of blocking your future e-mails from their inboxes. An e-mail offer to a prospect or past customer once or twice a year is fine, but no more than four times a year.
If you want to contact a customer multiple times in one year, it’s better to mix up your approach. Follow up your e-mail with a postcard, flyer, or brochure.
WHERE CAN YOU BUY E-MAIL LISTS?
Not all mailing lists come with e-mail addresses. Many only list phone numbers and postal addresses. If you are looking to buy a lead list with e-mails for a particular region or industry segment for your e-mail offer, then make sure that your list includes e-mail addresses. Start with:
